Specialist Paediatric Dietitian - 12 Month Fixed Term
12-Month Fixed Term Contract Band 6 or Band 7
Are you a passionate and experienced paediatric dietitian looking for your next opportunity? We're inviting applications to join our warm, supportive paediatric dietetic team at Great Western Hospital, Swindon, for a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This flexible post is open to Band 6 or Band 7 candidates, depending on experience, and offers the chance to work across a diverse and rewarding caseload.
Main duties of the job
What You'll Be Involved In:
Providing expert care toinpatients, home enterally fed children, and outpatients with conditions such as:
- Cow's milk protein allergy
- Failure to thrive
- Multiple allergies
- Type 1 diabetes
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centred care.

- BSc /Msc in Dietetics or equivalent
- Registration in Dietetics with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Evidence of postgraduate learning in relevant specialist area
- Member of British Dietetic Association and relevant specialist group
- Clinical Supervisory Skills training
Desirable
- Line management training
- BDA accredited MSc modules
Experience
Essential
- Significant recent experience in paediatrics, including management of complex cases.
- Extensive experience of working in multidisciplinary/multiprofessional teams
- Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient education programmes.
- Demonstrable experience in supervision, mentoring or line management
- Demonstratable experience and knowledge of safeguarding practices of children in the clinical area and child protection procedures
- Leading and participating in dietetic audit, research and service evaluation
- Experience in training and supervision of student dietitians and dietetic staff.
Desirable
- Experience of report writing for a variety of purposes
- Involvement in regional or national dietetic networks or special interest groups.
- Experience in service development or change management
