Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic, and resourceful occupational therapist of physiotherapist with a specialist knowledge and proven high level of skill in the field hand therapy to work within a newly developed Hands HITS clinic.
This is a part time role to to work alongside our orthopedics clinics and outpatient team alongside our current experienced clinical specialist.
We are looking for someone with excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills, to be able to teach and develop staff and students of all grades working within the service. The post holder will be encouraged and supported to develop their clinical, teaching, research and managerial skills. A cohesive team approach is maintained through an established in-service training program and regular staff meetings. Attendance at post registration courses is supported.

Main duties of the job
To use expert knowledge in the assessment and management of patients who present to the Hands Advanced Practitioner clinics. This requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of a wide range of hand & musculoskeletal conditions.To be responsible for own specialist caseload in both the Hand Therapy department and in any other community setting, if required.To work as an autonomous practitioner in the acute/emergency setting to provide specialist advice and treatment for post op elective hand surgery, fractures, and soft tissue injuries of the hand.To use advanced clinical reasoning skills in order to act as a departmental lead in the investigation and management of musculoskeletal pain. This requires knowledge of appropriate investigations, invasive treatments and indications for surgery.
