Job summary

The post holder will assist clinical physiologists in their day to day duties which include, ECG recording, attachment and detachment of ambulatory monitors, administration and filing, and any other duties deemed appropriate by the clinical physiologists.

Main duties of the job

  • Understands a range of work procedures and practices, some of which are non-routine, which require a limited level of practical knowledge, acquired through formal training and experience.
  • Administration, scanning, attachments, and filing.
  • Limited interpretation of ECG recordings and BP monitors, to include reporting. Ensure factual reports on the results obtained from clinical investigations are issued and communicated in a timely manner to referring physicians.
  • Safe use of equipment and responsibility for all equipment within the ECG department.
  • Responsible for data entry, text processing and storage of data using a computer-based data entry system.
  • Communicates test procedures and related information to patients, and relatives; patients may be children or have learning or physical disabilities.
  • Participate in performance review and set objectives with the Technical Service Manager and for continuing development of self and service.

Bring to the attention of the Technical Service Managers clinical incidents and complaints.
