Job summary
The post holder will be responsible supporting in the provision and co-ordination of training and educational support to enable the nursing team to provide up to date evidence-based care and on-going learning in the clinical environment.
The ward based Clinical Practice Educator will work collaboratively with the ward managers, Matrons, Lead nurse for Clinical Education, and the quality improvement team to develop and deliver effective, high quality, patient centered education and training. As part of this recruitment of CPE's we are also looking to appoint a Children's trained Nurse.
We are looking for clinical practice educators to cover our surgical, medical and paediatric wards.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing safe and effective care to all patients without direct supervision, ensuring family centred care is provided. They will work within the clinical area alongside staff to facilitate the development of skill to integrate education and practice development, thus enhancing the quality care delivery for the clinical workforce.
The role will also require participation in supervision, support of mentorship practice and mentoring of students, HCSW pre and post registered staff.
The Clinical Practice Educator will always demonstrate clinical leadership and act as a role model. The post holder will lead by example, disseminating good practice and constructively challenging assumptions, practice and performance where appropriate. The post holder will promote the development of whole system multidisciplinary working, and the delivery of evidence-based patient care.

- Provide real time in situ training for staff in clinical areas to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
