The Great Western Hospital are currently looking to expand their Mammography department to support with the current demand. The department has recently invested in developing their current facilities with the addition of a new Mammography room.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established HCPC registered Mammographer with NHS experience looking to increase their knowledge and work with state-of-the-art equipment which will include a 5% recruitment and retention premium until October 2023. Bank opportunities also available.

Main duties of the job
The Mammography Department undertakes approximately 20,000 examinations a year between screening and symptomatic. The successful applicant will be a keen team player who has image quality and patient care high on their agenda in line with NHSBSP (NHS Breast Screening Programme) standards. The department supports the development of your clinical skills and education, we encourage staff CPD.
As part of your role you will be working as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal requirements. We regularly train advanced practitioners and encourage our staff to undertake audits and engage in writing posters with a view to attending the Symposium Mammographicum where possible.

The role encompasses working both at the Breast Centre at The Great Western Hospital and on the services two mobile units which travel around Wiltshire on a three year round plan. The post holder will be expected to carry out routine breast screening and the more specialist mammographic examinations required in screening assessment clinics and symptomatic breast clinics. The post is that of a senior grade and so duties will encompass some managerial and supervisory tasks.
The standard post will be either full time (37.5 hours per week) principally within 8:00-5.00 normal working hours but you will be expected to cover some limited evening and weekend work.
