Hours; 28 per week

We are looking to recruit a part-time Wider Workforce Lead to join our team.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of Learning and Development as the specialist lead in the delivery of a professional and responsive service providing advice and guidance on the full range of widening participation initiatives including Apprenticeships (Levels 2-7), Assistant Practitioners, Care Certificate, in house training and development for Bands 2-4 and Early Careers progression within the organisation, including T Levels.

You will maintain evidence of performance against regional and national standards and is responsible for embedding and applying national strategies such as Talent for care and widening participation across the Trust. This involves liaison with multiple stake holders, sharing and communication to the whole Trust.

Main duties of the job

Leadership

To take the specialist lead across the Trust for Apprenticeships from level 2 through to level 7, providing expert up to date subject knowledge.

Establish comprehensive career development frameworks for staff in the wider workforce, including clear progression opportunities with realistic attainment end points to ensure robust engagement on performance and delivery.

To provide specialist management for the recruitment and development of Apprentices into the organisation, engaging with stakeholders and training providers to ensure a consistent approach across the Trust.

Engage in development of an infrastructure for the Trust to facilitate work experience and early careers which will include industry placements for T Level students and NHS Cadets, and other work preparation schemes with intended outcomes and an evaluation process.

To support the Head of Learning and Development in Health Inequality. Initiatives to support young adults in their career.

Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and new developments within healthcare, apprenticeships and widening participation.

Responsible for timely and cost-effective marketing and promotion of wider workforce and Apprenticeship opportunities.

To work with Head of Learning and Development on the LDA contract for wider workforce and apprenticeships activity with Health Education England (HEE); ensuring accurate and timely submission of audits and request data.

Job responsibilities

Ensure a high level of accuracy in analysis of substantial data and when dealing with internal/ external agencies presenting information to a wide range of stakeholders.

Establish excellent relationships with the wider workforce staff, managers and external stakeholders promoting joint working with other agencies, to address inter-dependencies and ensure alignment.

Support and promote continuous evaluation of new and existing ways of working for the Trust and in collaboration with all divisions develop alternatives that offer greater benefits.

Maintain an overview and deliver performance monitoring mechanisms for the wider workforce against national and local performance standards relating to strategic planning. Support the initiation of appropriate actions to ensure these standards are achieved and maintained.

To develop and lead on overarching policy, strategy and service improvement initiatives specific to the wider workforce and apprenticeships that impact on the Trust and national direction of travel and ensure that all actions related to education commissioning of this group of staff is in a timely and robust manner.

Identify customer outcomes that we need to achieve now, and in the future, with a plan to achieve wider workforce and apprenticeships specific objectives by planning, coordinating and organising a broad range of substantial activities specific to this group of staff. Working with internal and external providers to develop training that meets the needs of national standards, organisation and individual requirements.

To work with the Head of Learning and Development. Engage with the development of an infrastructure for the Trust to deliver its wider workforce objectives in the wider health economy with an evaluation process which establishes that the outcomes are achieved and the impact that they have.

Analyse and interpret data from multiple sources including, performance data and national guidance and use judgement to develop in conjunction with the Head of Learning and Development a comprehensive wider workforce strategy.

Support the Trust in the planning of future service developments including workforce planning, ensuring that the resources and facilities meet the need of the service in the context of performance expectation.

To work with the Head of Learning and Development on the procurement and contracts management for all apprenticeships, working with relevant procurement and contacts teams, whilst ensuring maintenance of the Trusts levy is being managed.

Providing complex management and pastoral support to the varied learners engaging with training providers, Trust staff and the individuals.

Promote and identify Apprenticeship opportunities within the trust for all staff, whilst ensuring Public Sector Apprenticeship targets are met.

To take lead on collaboration and Partnership working within BSW work streams for Apprenticeships.

Maintain the Trust Care Certificate compliance and achievement through engagement with Senior Clinical Teams, and supporting the Wider Workforce team with credible delivery.
