Job summary
Saturn ward, is a busy 36 bed unit specialising in Gastroenterology and General Medicine. We work very closely with the endoscopy unit, IBD specialist nurse's and our liver specialist nurse here at the hospital. We have many learning opportunities available given the nature of the patients we receive here on the ward and is therefore ideal for both newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses.
We provide acute care for the Great Western Hospital, run adult community services across Swindon and manage primary care practices in Swindon, providing care for 30,000 patients.
Our 5,600 staff have 1.2m patient contacts a year, with 13,000 operations carried out in our Theatres, around 4,000 babies born, and our emergency attendances are now well over 100,000 per year.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced staff nurse who would like the development opportunity to become a senior member of our nursing team. You will need to be dynamic, compassionate and able to safely run the ward in the absence of other senior nurses.

Desirable
- Diploma/Degree qualification.
- Teaching/Assessor Qualification e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent.
- Qualification or experience in teaching and assessing.
