Job summary

Applications are sought for a Band 6 Paramedic (having completed NQP consolidation pathway) to work on the vehicle alongside Mental Health Nurses.

The car will operate 7 days per week 14:00hrs - 02:00hrs across the Herts and West Essex Locality

Main duties of the job

As a paramedic on a mental health joint response car, working alongside a mental health nurse, you play a vital role in addressing mental health crises. Key duties include assessing and stabilising patients' physical and mental health, collaborating with the nurse to develop appropriate care plans, and intervening in crises to de-escalate situations. You also ensure safe patient transport to healthcare facilities, facilitate referrals to mental health services, and monitor patients for any medical issues, administering necessary treatments. This collaborative role enhances holistic patient care by integrating both medical and mental health support.
