Job summary

The Digital IT team comprises five core functions; Enterprise Architecture, Commercial, Delivery, Live Service and Information. This role sits within the Live Services team and is responsible for the leadership, development and resource management of 15 technical staff supporting all Trust IT Infrastructure and Systems. Essentially the role can be compared to an IT departmental manager role outside of the NHS. This is a player manager role requiring a broad experience in technologies across Data Networking, Telephony, Cloud and Database Platforms.

Main duties of the job

Maintain and develop the Trusts Infrastructure and Systems architecture in collaboration with the Trusts Enterprise Architect. Lead a diverse team of IT professionals to proactively and re-actively support the Trusts Infrastructure and Systems 24x7. Maintain and evolve the Trusts business continuity plan for Live IT services. Represent the Trust at forums/ engagements with equivalent positions at other NHS Trusts.

This is a critical role to enable the next 5 years of the Trusts digital strategy as well as maintaining the high availability and integrity of the infrastructure and systems the directly support patient care.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing a Technical Infrastructure team.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Apple end user technology.
  • Intermediate knowledge of NHS Ambulance Service operations.
  • Ability to travel between sites (full driving licence/own car).

Desirable

  • ITILv4 Managing Professional.
  • 5 years' experience of IT Service Management tools/ technology.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services.
