Job summary

East of England Ambulance Services NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Band 7 Policy and Project Manager. This is a fixed-term contract position, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and projects within our organisation.

As a Policy and Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and improving our HR policy modernisation. Your key responsibilities will include HR policy writing, working with the Trade Unions and leading and supporting on the Digital HR Remodelling Project. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the Trust to ensure that our policies are aligned with legal requirements and best practices. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic HR projects.

This role reports to the Head of HR Policy and Projects in the Business Excellence Team, People Services Directorate. You will work closely with a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the overall success of our HR initiatives

Main duties of the job

  • Write and review HR policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Lead the Digital HR Remodelling Project, driving the implementation of digital solutions to enhance HR processes.
  • Collaborate with Staff-side representatives stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct research, and develop innovative HR solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies and projects, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic HR projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with NHS Guidance , Agenda for Change Terms & Conditions, HR trends, legislation, and best practices to inform policy development and project implementation.

  • Chartered Member of CIPD, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Desirable

  • Project Management Qualification, eg Prince2 Foundation.
  • Postgraduate HR Qualification, or equivalent experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Able to manage a major area of work, with freedom to interpret broad corporate and national policies.
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Legislation and best practices and CPD.
  • Proven experience in HR Policy Development and Project Management.
