Job summary

This is an exciting time to join the East of England Ambulance Service Trust amidst the development of a new centralised approach to Planning and Resourcing.

The Head of Resource Planning will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Trust's strategic aims and on-going development through identifying opportunities for change to support improvements in service delivery. The post holder will influence stakeholders and oversee the transformation and implementation of agreed changes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of resource planning for both in house and external contingent resource.

The post holder will provide leadership and professional management, combined with responsibility for resource planning across the trust including the development and implementation of planning changes, providing expertise to support directorates in their work to redesign and modernise services.

They will support the delivery of measurable and observable improvements in planning resources both operational (staff and vehicles) and financial, analysing performance and variations to plans to inform the business planning and operational management of the organisation.

The post holder must be passionate, ambitious and have the desire to influence at the highest levels, both within the Trust and with partner organisations and the wider health economy, and must have aclear vision of how this post will contribute to the achievement of the Trust.

Essential

  • Educated to Level 7, master's degree level or equivalent and demonstrable level of experience
  • Management qualification Level 7 or demonstrable experience

Desirable

  • Project Management qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge and previous experience of development of resource planning and scheduling services
  • Significant in-depth management experience leading a team in a responsive, fast paced customer focused, operational environment
  • Experience of planning and delivery across a variety of disciplines including operational, performance management and service planning
  • Practical experience and evidence of supporting and facilitating planning processes in health and/or social care, including experience of positively influencing senior managers
  • Can clearly demonstrate delivery of improvements, operational efficiencies and cost reduction programmes. Experience of developing/working with complex information systems to identify, clarify and monitor change impacts
  • Broad experience and evidence of working in partnership with NHS organisations at all levels to deliver change and modernisation
  • Financial & budgetary experience
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Applications
