Job summary

This is an exciting time to join the East of England Ambulance Service Trust amidst the development of a new centralised approach to Planning and Resourcing.

The Head of Planning & Forecasting will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Trust's strategic aims and on-going development through identifying opportunities for change to support improvements in service delivery. The post holder will influence stakeholders and oversee the transformation and implementation of agreed changes.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Planning and Forecasting will support the Head of Resource Planning and Deputy Chief Operating Officer in analysing future scope and challenges in the performance of operational service delivery in urgent and emergency healthcare services at East of England Ambulance Service Trust; enabling the service to respond rapidly and effectively to changes.

The post holder will support the Deputy COO in developing a comprehensive and integrated demand, resource and performance forecasting system which supports high performance and continuousimprovement by developing and establishing a systematic approach to demand and capacity linked to performance measurement, reporting and improvement.

  • Master's Degree / Equivalent or equivalent experience.
  • SQL Server.

Desirable

  • Anaplan model builder.
  • Master's level postgraduate qualification relevant to leadership, performance or analytics.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Understands and uses relevant computer languages and software packages and is capable of writing programs to select, retrieve, manipulate, edit, and analyse data.
  • Detailed understanding of the key targets and performance metrics utilised in an NHS Ambulance Trust.
  • Clear understanding and experienced in working with staff and patient identifiable data and the responsibilities you have in ensure this data is safe in line with GDPR.
  • Evidence in working to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Advanced technical specialist in a range of predictive analytical tools such as R or Python. Advanced Excel and Microsoft skills.

Desirable

  • In depth knowledge of resource planning in an Ambulance Trust and NHS policies and procedures.
