Job summary

The East of England Ambulance Trust is looking for a Clinical Practice Specialist to join us in an emergent role within the Strategy, Culture and Education Directorate. This is an exciting time to join the Trust, as we are moving towards a holistic education and development methodology for our existing staff and future workforce. Please note, this position forms a 24-month fixed-term / secondment opportunity that specifically focuses on preceptorships Trust-wide. As such, candidates' experience and expertise will need to be preceptorship-focused (including NQP, NQT, PHP / Ambulance Nurse, PHP Military, and PHP International Recruitment).

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced clinician, leader and educator who is passionate about improving our service and processes - both capability and quality. The successful candidate will take the lead for facilitating and developing learning for all grades of staff and students across all pathways, with primary focus on the operational environment across the STP and with external partners. They will promote high quality care, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice to meet the needs of our patients.

About us

They will be the key liaison with learners, our university partners, education and training team, and operational teams across the region. The role also provides expert support in relation to higher education, clinical practice, and professional pathways. This includes the provision of appropriate mentorship, supervision, and support for all operational staff and both internal and external students, and act as a quality assurance mechanism for both practice educators and learners.

Essential

  • Effective HCPC Registration or other professional healthcare registration i.e NMC/GMC.
  • Level 6 qualification in Paramedic Science or other health profession (or level 5 equivalent and willing to achieve within 3 years).
  • Certificate in Education and Training.
  • Level 5/6 Mentoring or Practice Education (PEd) Qualification

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education or Diploma in Education and Training.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Up to date with paramedic developments in Pre-Hospital care.
  • Awareness of new developments in the broader NHS
  • The link between Clinical Care and Education & Training.
  • I.T Skills MS office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, ability to deliver concise and effective feedback
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Awareness of the impact of NHS visions/values to education and training.

Experience

Essential

  • 2 years post registration experience as a Paramedic/registered healthcare professional in a patient facing environment.
  • Delivery of Education and Training in a healthcare environment
  • Evidence of undertaking clinical supervision of staff and/or students in a healthcare setting
  • Assessment in clinical practice and on education/training programmes
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD/Professional Development
