MAKE READY GROUP LEAD - CHELMSFORD & HARLOW
The Operations Support directorate at the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust are a dedicated and vital support network which assists our front-line clinicians in providing excellent care to people living in the East of England, 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day covering six counties - Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with the ability and energy to lead the local element of the Operations Support team that prepare emergency response vehicles to ensure they are available, clean, roadworthy and fully equipped to meet the demands of the operational front-line crews. The Make Ready Group Lead role is key to the delivery and development of Make Ready Services and a vital link between Operations Support and local Operations management.

Main duties of the job
Duties of the Make Ready Group Lead include:
Managing several Make Ready teams and supervisors who provide a 24/7 support service to front line operations.
Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover planned rotas, staff performance and progression along with appraisals.
Completing investigations under RIDDOR guidance regarding Datix to ensure compliance and Health & Safety standards are adhered to.
Producing performance reports/data.

This role will cover the main ambulance stations at Harlow and Chelmsford and their surrounding satellite stations.

We need you to have proven management skills to carry out this management role supporting the teams within your area. Ideally you will have experience of recruiting and the performance management of staff. You will also be responsible for staff training including the induction of new staff.
You must have proven experience of producing and submitting regular performance management data, along with experience of monitoring budget performance and the implementation of financial recovery plans to maintain financial balance.
You will need to maintain good working relationship and communication with our Operations Management staff, Workshops, Clinical Engineering and our Supplies departments to ensure the smooth and efficient running of your area.
