Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Perinatal Mental Health Service within the county wide Norfolk & Suffolk Perinatal Community Mental Health Service. We are offering 2 full time posts for experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners, including Nurses, OT's or Social Workers seeking an opportunity to work within a highly specialist, multidisciplinary perinatal setting.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist skills in perinatal mental health, with a strong focus on thinking about the whole family system, including the parent infant relationship.
Main duties of the job
This post sits within the Suffolk Perinatal Community Mental Health Team, with a particular focus on the West Suffolk area.The Perinatal Community Mental Health Team provides prevention, detection and treatment of mental health difficulties during pregnancy and up to two years post partum.
You will work as part of a large, supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, including:o Consultant Psychiatristso Consultant Clinical Psychologisto Therapies teamo Registered Nurseso Social Workerso Assistant Practitionerso Peer Support Workerso Nursery Nurseso Occupational Therapistso Community Team Managerso A Matron and an Operational Manager specialising in perinatal mental health

- Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist OR Social Worker with the relevant professional registration
- Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor training (NMC registrants) or Practice Educator (AHP & Social Worker Registrants)
- Ongoing professional development working towards degree level ( if professional registration is following a diploma level course)
Desirable
- Recognised Leadership/Management training
- Higher degree or post graduate certificate in area of clinical / therapeutic practice
Experience
Essential
- Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience
- Demonstrate effective risk assessment and risk management experience
- Experience in the delivery of clinical interventions
- Experience in working in team delivering person centred treatment packages
- Experience supervising others/students including preceptorship programme, student placements etc
