Band 7 Psychological Therapist (DBT)

We're delighted to be recruiting a band 7 psychological therapist specialising in DBT.

The postholder will work across the working age adult community teams in East Suffolk. We are a supportive and dedicated multi-disciplinary team across East Suffolk, with competencies and accreditations in a range of evidence based psychological therapies.

The ideal applicant(s) will be passionate about delivering evidence-based therapies and working psychologically with people experiencing mental health difficulties living in the community.

Main duties of the job

If you are passionate about delivering evidence based psychological therapies and are experienced in working psychologically with adults with complex presentations associated with community mental health, then this role will be perfect for you.

We are seeking someone who is trained in, or is nearing the end of their post graduate diploma training in DBT (band 7 salary will be dependant on achieving the qualification and accreditation) to work alongside another DBT Therapist and develop the current service. The applicant would be able to carry out psychological assessment, formulation and therapy alongside psychological consultation, and deliver teaching/training to the multi-disciplinary team. Duties would also include attendance and contribution to MDT meetings.

Essential

  • Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Applicants close to completion will be considered and salary will be dependent on achieving qualification
  • Must be either a core profession and wid registered to practice with a regulatory professional body OR A Clinical Associate in Psychology with 2 years post qualification experience and be registered the BPS OR Accredited Psychotherapist or Psychological Therapist with substantial NHSE experience and registration with BABCP, BACP or UKCP

  • Post qualification experience of working with people with serious mental health problems or complex emotional needs
  • Experience of delivering DBT to a range of service users
