Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic clinical/counselling psychologist/senior psychological therapist (please see job descriptions), across our North East and North West Adult Community Mental Health Teams in the Central Norfolk Locality

Main duties of the job

Main duties include formulation, assessment and psychological intervention to service users and carers within a face paced CMHT context. You will provide evidence-based individual and group interventions as well as supporting the broader team deliver psychologically informed interventions through consultation, supervision and by delivering training.

The North East and North West CMHTs are based at the Peddars Centre at Hellesdon Hospital. With a large-scale community transformation project taking place across the locality, it is an exciting time to join the Adult CMHT Psychology and Therapies Teams.

There is a positive culture around formulation led and trauma-informed care and we provide a broad range of NICE-endorsed therapeutic approaches. We are pro-active in developing staff around our identified service needs, supported by further training and project work. Psychology Services within the Trust have strong links with partners including UEA, and NSFT's Recovery College, in which they play an active role.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Post-graduate degree (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology or counselling, accredited by BPS
  • Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) OR
  • Postgraduate qualification/Post Graduate training in a specific therapy (e.g. CBT, CAT)'
  • Core Mental health professional training and registration or equivalent knowledge and experience

Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with a range of complex and challenging behaviours and exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological treatment
  • Highly specialised experience of developing and delivering specialised treatment packages with individuals and groups/families
  • Experience of supervision and teaching

Desirable

  • Experience of working with Adults presenting with complexity.

Skills

  • Skilled in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.

Knowledge
