The Trust is seeking a specialty doctor to join our women's secure inpatient service based in Norwich. The role offers the opportunity for the successful candidate to provide psychiatric input to Whitlingham ward which is a blended model of inpatient secure care for women where patients traditionally requiring both low and medium security are managed together on one unit based on their need and acuity.
Whitlingham ward has 16 beds. The service aims to provide excellent quality care, always placing emphasis on recovery and working closely with care co-ordinators from other localities within the trust to ensure a seamless care pathway for all service users & carers, some of whom will be going through the criminal justice system.
Secure and Forensic Services for NSFT are rated as Good by the CQC. We provide a wide and growing body of clinical services operating in a variety of settings linked to criminal justice services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake clinical management of patients seen within the team at a level as is appropriate for a specialty doctor under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist. This would include diagnostic assessments where required, development of management plans and treatment regimes.
The post holder is appointed as a senior professional to provide advanced professional expertise and clinical leadership. As such, the post holder is expected at all times to conduct him/herself in such a manner as to be demonstrably helping the Trust to deliver its strategic and business objectives, and to act as an ambassador at the interface with external partners and stakeholders. At no time must the post holder bring the Trust into disrepute.
A Additionally, the post holder, as is expected from the holder of a senior public position, must at all times comply fully with the Nolan principles and the Standards of Business Conduct.
