Payroll Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Payroll Manager to join the Finance team on a full time basis.

The finance team has recently been restructured, and this is therefore an exciting time to join a progressive and dynamic team.

The role will be responsible for monitoring the outsourced payroll function and be the payroll specialist in the Trust. You will need to understand complex payroll issues and be able to manually check/ re-calculate pay and overpayments as necessary.

Dependant on the candidates circumstances the formal base may be either Ipswich or Norwich on appointment and it will be possible to work part of the time from home.

Main duties of the job

To be the payroll specialist within the Trust, understanding complex payroll issues and being able to manually re-calculate pay/ overpayments as necessary.

Be familiar with rules around pension and personal tax and be able to point people where to get appropriate advice.

To monitor the timely and accurate delivery of payroll services to Trust employees in accordance with the contracted SLA agreement between all key stakeholders.

To ensure effective communications are maintained between the Payroll Provider, Finance Department, Human Resources Department, and localities and to encourage the promotion of a 'blame free' culture and establishing of good working relationships between all parties.

To be proactive in the development, introduction and monitoring of robust procedures to support the effective delivery of the payroll service and to work with key stakeholders to ensure optimum performance is delivered and best practice is adhered to by all parties.
