Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Team Manager to lead our new Under 18's Suffolk Crisis Service Team at NSFT which is due to go live from April 2026. This is a pivotal leadership role within Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), supporting children and young people in acute mental health distress.

We are looking for someone who can lead by example and demonstrate good collaborative working, placing emphasis on the Recovery Model. This is an exciting time within NSFT to be part of creating a new way of working which will include developing close working relationships with other NSFT teams and partners.

You will be suitably qualified / registered Nurse / Social Worker or Occupational Therapist and be able to evidence your knowledge of mental health by your level of experience in both clinical and leadership roles, particularly as part of multi-disciplinary teams. Your experience of leading service development and the ability to competently assess risk will be essential as will your excellent communication, analytical and decision-making skills.

Main duties of the job

As the Clinical Team Leader role, you will be responsible for the operational management of a range of aspects of service delivery within the team and for clinical / managerial supervision of professional staff.

To ensure a responsive, high quality service is provided to clients, their families and carers within the clinical environment.

Maintain compliance with key performance indicators. Develop any Quality Improvement initiatives that could improve outcomes.

  • Provide visible leadership and operational management of the crisis team.

  • Ensure safe, caring, and responsive service delivery in line with Trust policies and statutory requirements.

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of clinical and administrative staff.

  • Oversee clinical governance, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Manage team budgets and resources effectively.

  • Collaborate with CAMHS, social care, education, and voluntary sector partners.

  • Maintain a small clinical caseload where appropriate.
