We're seeking two pro-active, passionate, and motivated Assistant Psychologists to join our well-established and thriving East Suffolk CAMHS team based in Ipswich. Our service provides highly specialist mental health treatment to children and young people up to the age of 18 years old; experiencing moderate to severe mental health disorders.

We appreciate that as part of developing the skills and experience required to take the next steps to clinical training, our Assistant Psychologists value a range of experiences. Within our Suffolk Children, Young People and Families (CFYP) care group, we support our Assistant Psychologists to gain experience working within and across our core secondary Mental Health services. Positions will be based within CAMHS, with potential opportunities to become involved in clinical and project work within our Young Adult Mental Health Service (YAMHS) which serves the 18 - 25-year-old age range.

Main duties of the job

JOB OVERVIEW

Please see attached job specification and recruitment letter. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the nominated Specialist CAMHS service, and where appropriate YAMHS service, to in summary:

Support the overall psychological care and treatment of children, young people and families within the service.

Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist; including the use of specialist psychometric assessments.

Under supervision, to deliver brief psychological interventions.

Support the qualified Clinical Psychologist in the development and delivery of workshops and training packages.

Participate in audit, research, service evaluation, and project activities.

The successful candidate will need to have a BPS accredited MSc in Psychology.
