Mental Health Liaison Team Manager

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to take on a 12 month secondment or fixed term post as a job share, with our established multi-disciplinary Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) based at the James Paget University Hospital (JPUH).

MHLT provides the Core24 service at JPUH for ages 16 and over. The multidisciplinary team includes Mental Health Practitioners (Nurses/SocialWorkers), Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrists and Admin staff.

Main duties of the job

MHLT work with patients with both mental health needs and complex physical health presentations. The team accepts referrals from theEmergency Department and inpatient ward areas. You will work alongside our existing leadership team to line manage the team and need to beconfident with day to day operational management, supporting JPUH colleagues and HR processes. There is a requirement to regularly reviewthe teams performance and data and report into the wider care group.

Essential

  • Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip SW or Dip OT or equivalent, or HCPC registered

Desirable

  • ILM certificate in management or equivalent
  • Ongoing professional development working towards degree level
  • Higher degree or post graduate certificate in area of clinical / therapeutic practice - Post basic teaching qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management/supervision experience.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Extensive experience with risk assessment and management.
  • Mentoring Experience

  • Evidence of providing leadership in an acute care environment including service development
