Job summary
We are excited to be recruiting for anAssociate Director of Nursingfor West Suffolk Community and Specialist Services, based at Wedgwood House, Bury St Edmunds. In this role, you will work closely with the Associate Director of Operations and be supported by the locality triumvirate. While there is flexibility on your base, there is an expectation to be present within the services you cover throughout the week.
We are seeking a hands-on leader who is compassionate and can bring their teams along with them. You should be data-driven, have attention to detail, be proactive, and have excellent communication skills. You will have opportunities to engage and lead on specific workstreams trust-wide and deputise when required for the Director of Nursing.

Main duties of the job
As the Associate Director of Nursing, you will:
- Deliver optimal outcomes for service users and the local health population within the available resources.
- Work closely with the Locality Director of Nursing to develop, direct, and lead service improvement and performance strategies and policies to support the delivery of safe and effective care.
- Provide professional leadership to the Locality nursing workforce and ensure high-quality care is delivered.
- Promote a culture of learning and openness, ensuring clinical staff have the knowledge, capability, systems, and support to deliver evidence-based care and embed lessons learned in practice for the improvement of patient experience.
- Represent the Trust in external meetings, engaging in wider networking and interagency collaboration.
