Job summary

Wellbeing Suffolk Lead Therapist Step 2

Wellbeing Suffolk delivers NHS Talking Therapies and is currently benchmarked in the top three NHS Talking Therapies Services in the country with workforce surveys evidencing high morale. The service was recently awarded continuation to deliver the Talking Therapies contract for a further five years and is building on existing strengths to deliver the new model launched agreed in September 2024, so, a very exciting time to be joining the service.

The service is delivered as part of a well-established partnership between Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), MTCIC, Shaw Trust, Suffolk Family Carers and Family Action. Our NHS Talking Therapies service provides community orientated, evidence-based psychological therapies for people from the age of sixteen with common mental health problems of anxiety and low mood with a range of presentations.

We are looking to employ an experienced CBT therapist to join our senior clinical team as a Lead Therapist in our Step 2 Team.

Main duties of the job

This is a community-based role that will require working face-to-face with colleagues as well as ability to work independently from home, as a hybrid role. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and supervision to the members of the Step 2 clinical team, working closely with other lead therapists and operational colleagues across the service. You will also provide cross cover with other clinical colleagues, supporting the service needs.

You will require exceptional clinical and organisational skills, an ability to filter demands and prioritise effectively, with a good grasp of what can be appropriately delegated. Day to day problem solving whilst maintaining an eye on the strategic direction of the service is important.

You will supervise others and ensure quality service provision and delivery across Suffolk, to support the service in achieving our key aims, ensuring clinical outcomes are met to maintain, and progress our successful service.

About us

You will have proven experience in clinical supervision, be motivated and have an ability to inspire and lead others, with the ability to lead and manage change through challenging times . A 'can do' attitude is essential to work collaboratively with all colleagues throughout the service and partnership.

You will need to hold a full accreditation with the BABCP and will carry a small caseload to maintain your own accreditation, taking cases from CBT waiting list as required.

We are a service committed to compassionate leadership and the development of our staff is important to us. You will receive regular supervision as well as in service training and CPD days that ensure your continued learning and development. We are a research-friendly service currently involved in a number of projects focussing on improving outcomes for our service users, and ways of developing the support offered to therapists to achieve this. We are also passionate about technology, utilising innovations where these aid therapy and improve the experience for our service users.

Experience of working within an NHS Talking Therapies service or knowledge and enthusiasm about the NHS Talking Therapies programme would be an advantage and you will need to demonstrate a history of achieving demanding key performance outcomes within a multifunction delivery team as the service is heavily performance managed around a number of contracted indicators.
