Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust

The closing date is 13 May 2025

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior clinician to provide operational leadership across NSFT for the new CMHT/ community improvement programme which is one of five priority programmes that form the new clinical transformation infrastructure led by Stewart Gee, Chief Transformation Officer.

The main purpose of this programme is to deliver a standard service and workforce model for the adult CMHTs across NSFT that meets local population need, improvements in service interfaces, updated workforce models and better training and development for staff, in line with the NHS Long-Term Plan, Community Mental Health Services Framework (CMHSF), replacement to CPA and issues from the national intensive & assertive programme. The service model will include physical healthcare and improvements for people with serious mental illness (SMI). The programme also covers some of the wider community services and interface issues with CMHTs; some of this systems work will be led by the ICBs but supported by this new role.

The programme will run alongside the Crisis improvement work and the inpatient delivery programme. A key aspect of the role will be to lead on the development of the service and workforce models for the adult CMHTs working closely with staff, service users and carers and stakeholders including the ICBs as set out in the agreed improvement programme plan.

Main duties of the job

You will have responsibility to meet the actions assigned to the role as set out in the CMHT/ community improvement plan as well as aspects included in the Crisis and Inpatient plans that apply to the community programme. • Lead on the service model development for the adult CMHTs (to be developed by end Sept 25)
  • Lead on the physical healthcare model for the CMHTs (to be developed by end Sept 25)

In terms of more general responsibilities the role will:

  • Have direct responsibility for the CMHT/ community programme delivery across NSFT including close alignment with the new strategic clinical networks
  • Provide the required updates and reports to the relevant meetings as set out in the governance structure and improvement plan
  • Ensure overall programme plans are updated as required and meet identified priorities
