The EVI PMO Team is at the heart of the Trust's journey to enhance efficiency, productivity, and value, while prioritising clinical, operational, and quality outcomes. As a growing and dynamic team, we are dedicated to supporting the Trust in achieving financial sustainability through transformative projects that improve the quality and delivery of its services.

We are seeking a Head of Programme Management Office (PMO) to play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive, leadership, and management teams. You will lead Trust-wide change initiatives designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our services, ultimately benefiting both patients and staff.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the success of the Efficiency, Value, and Improvement (EVI) PMO by supporting and facilitating multiple high-priority programmes and projects simultaneously.

They will ensure that all initiatives are delivered at pace while embedding sustainable change across the Trust. Operating with significant autonomy, the post holder will act as a key partner to the Executive Directors, senior clinicians, operational managers, and a range of internal and external stakeholders. Their ability to influence and lead at all levels of the Trust will be critical to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • EVI PMO Leadership: Provide strategic direction to the EVI PMO, ensuring alignment with the Trusts overall objectives and priorities. Develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across all programmes.

  • Programme Governance: Oversee programme governance frameworks to ensure all projects adhere to best practices, with clear accountability, robust reporting, and risk management protocols. Lead the development of governance documentation, including project charters, stage-gate reviews, and performance dashboards.

  • Monitoring and Assurance: Provide regular and detailed updates to the EVI Delivery Group and Programme Board on project progress, financial performance, risk mitigation, and forecast positions. Act as the custodian of programme assurance, ensuring initiatives remain on track to deliver their intended outcomes.

  • Cost Improvement Leadership: Lead the annual cost improvement programme planning cycle, ensuring alignment with the Trusts business planning processes and financial recovery objectives. Develop strategies to identify, track, and deliver efficiency opportunities across the Trust.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Executive Directors, clinical leads, operational teams, and external partners. Facilitate collaboration and drive engagement to secure buy-in for transformational initiatives.

  • Capability Building: Develop the EVI PMO team, fostering a high-performing environment through coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Promote a shared vision for the EVI PMOs role in delivering Trust-wide improvements.

  • Risk and Issue Management: Oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across all programmes. Ensure proactive issue resolution and contingency planning to maintain programme momentum.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Lead the development and delivery of high-quality analytics and reporting to inform decision-making, highlighting areas of success and identifying opportunities for further improvement.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the adoption of best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance project and programme delivery. Champion innovation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and value across all EVI PMO activities.
