Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team and growing service, which aims to help young people at risk of developing psychosis who are experiencing an at-risk mental state. The Therapeutic Interventions for Distressing unusual Experiences Service (TIDES) is a brand-new team working therapeutically with young people across Norfolk & Waveney. We are seeking an Assistant Practitioner to join the existing team on a full or part time basis. The base will be Norwich and would be expected to work flexibly between bases in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Kings Lynn, and home.
We are a supported team currently made up of clinical psychology, systemic family therapy, trainee cognitive behavioural therapists and mental health practitioners which are from a variety of professional backgrounds. Our team will be offering young people evidence-based interventions such as psychoeducational work, individual CBT and family therapeutic work aimed at helping our young people and their families to cope with their unusual experiences. TIDES practitioners work with small manageable caseloads and hold an integrated approach to the care we provide.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will have recognised, extensive and substantively proven holistic approach to service user care with significant mental health needs. This approach, depending on the service, will be determined by the needs of the individual e.g. meeting physical health needs, shopping, social integration, maintaining and improving their home environment.
Assistant Practitioners will work alongside service users, facilitating their development of daily living/social skills. To maximise their potential and opportunities to participate in work/ training / education / social activities.
The Assistant practitioner will be able to demonstrate their enhanced knowledge and extensive experience of mental health to help support other members of the team in a designated clinical environment.
The post holder will develop a wide knowledge base of community resources, including offering social, educational, work and voluntary opportunities. The Assistant Practitioner will be expected to take part in on going assessments of service users with the Multi-disciplinary team,assess, plan, deliver and evaluate service users' needs in conjunction with a registered professional and deliver care within the sphere of the Care Programme Approach, including the importance ofworking with carers.
Assistant Practitioners will hold and manage an identified caseload where appropriate and ensure that ongoing reviews of risk assessments are completed, recognising and responding to any changes.
