Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for multiple qualified Psychological Therapists to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Step 3 team. Wellbeing Norfolk and Waveney is a large NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety & Depression (TTAD) service providing evidence-based psychosocial treatments for people aged 16 upwards with common mental health problems of anxiety and low mood. We deliver a bio-psycho-social model which includes psychological, employment and social interventions. We pride ourselves in delivering a service that we would want our own family and friends to experience.

This is an exciting time to join our diverse Team as we collectively implement our new Service model across Norfolk and Waveney. We work closely with the University of East Anglia (UEA) which is a UK Top 25 university in the Complete University Guide 2025 and in the UK Top 30 in the Sunday Times and Guardian. We facilitate a range of clinical placements including the CBT High Intensity Training, Clinical Psychology and we strive to become a compassionate centre of clinical and research excellence.

Your support in this role will include receiving regular clinical and line-management supervision, as well as regular clinical learning sessions and access to high quality and internally renowned CPD. You will also have the opportunity to further your clinical skills by developing a speciality on our perinatal or trauma pathways, or by becoming a Champion for a specific client group.

Main duties of the job

The service is delivered via a partnership between Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT), Mind, Relate and other external partners, bringing all the benefits of being an NHS Trust provider alongside a nationally respected mental health charity supporting delivery using a social recovery model. This post comes under the direct employment of NSFT.

We are committed to implementing service changes through the regular use of Quality Improvement (QI) and supporting all staff to be part of these projects.

You will hold a caseload of clients, providing assessment and treatment for people presenting with common mental health problems.

Our treatments are delivered face to face, online via video platforms, and by telephone. We also provide workshops / webinars and computerised CBT (cCBT). We are committed to delivering a place-based model by embedding ourselves within our communities, and so you will be expected to deliver face-to-face treatment form one of our hubs, as well as online treatments remotely.

Essential

  • BABCP accreditation as a CBT/Therapists(may have been gained following successful completion of High Intensity Therapist Training).
  • Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Theoretical knowledge of CBT/Therapies and the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client need.
  • Excellent communication skills with a range of people in a variety of both clinical and managerial settings.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with a wide variety of patients whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems
