Clinical Support Worker - Learning Disabilities East

Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity for a band 3 Clinical Support Worker has arisen within our East Suffolk Community team for adults with learning disabilities and autism based in Ipswich covering the East Suffolk area. If you are looking for a fulfilling and varied role with a genuine desire to develop your career in a community learning disability team and a commitment to providing high quality, evidence-based interventions, then we want to hear from you.

As a team we continually strive to develop our quality health care services and we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our dynamic multi- disciplinary service. The successful applicant will be joining an innovative team of clinicians providing high quality heath interventions as part of the wider forward thinking, diverse multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with nurses and other professional clinicians as well as multiple agencies.

Main duties of the job

Are you able to think and work creatively with individuals and their carers?

You will be able to work independently, supporting the delivery of person-centred care plans, as part of the holistic approach to learning disability. Communication and engagement are key for people with a learning disability or autism, so these are key skills required along with a positive, creative and caring approach to providing and delivering support.

You will also be able to demonstrate that you are able to apply your skills to a wide range of situations, working with a range of adults with a learning disability living within the East Suffolk community.

About us

The way we care for people with Learning Disabilities in Suffolk is changing at NSFT as we have recently benefitted from £1.3 million of investment for our Acute services and the role out of a new Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Service. The development is fully driven by the national Transforming Care Agenda.

The Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Service is not only being invested in financially, with a fresh approach to ideas and service delivery being supported by the Trust, we are confident our new model of care is the very best for the people we care for. We have a culture of continued learning, working as a close LD specialist pathway with each team having monthly protected days which includes a variety of training, reflection, supervision and service development. The entire pathway is focused on the further development of high-quality care in line with NHS LD standards alongside our colleagues in mainstream services.
