Job summary
Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse seeking a new challenge? Would you like the opportunity to work on a busy, inpatient ward alongside a collaborative and supportive team?
We are seeking to recruit a Charge Nurse to join our team at Samphire Ward in Kings Lynn. You may be a Mental Health Nurse, a Learning Disabilities Nurse or a Registered Nurse with experience in Mental Health. We are looking to appoint nurses who bring with them fresh ideas and fresh ambition.
This role is ideal for someone who is interested in innovative patient led recovery and who is passionate and wants to help drive improvement.
Samphire Ward is a 16-bed acute admission ward housed in a purpose-built facility built in consultation with both staff and service users, this means staff focus much more on patient care rather than observing the environment.
The ideal candidate will need a level head and be aware of the operational pressures of an acute inpatient environment. As a team we take pride in supporting staff and providing an induction to the area and to people's individual needs and experience.
Main duties of the job
The Charge Nurse within a ward team is expected to take the lead in the implementation of individualised and responsive care planning, risk assessment and discharge facilitation. Within this role there is also an element of leadership and staff management for which excellent communication skills and the ability to self-reflect are critical.
We will look to support you to develop your skills in a variety of ways, be that through our existing Band 6 development programme, leadership courses, mentorship, involvement in quality improvement projects as well as more formal qualifications. If you have the drive to provide excellent care, can demonstrate high quality clinical skills and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to people's lives then we would love to hear from you.
If you want to make a difference in peoples lives and change it for the better, we want you to be part of our fantastic team!
