Job summary

We are excited to offer a further opportunity for a motivated person to join our team on a one year contract to continue with the excellent work of our current post holders.

Our successful applicant will support the recruitment, welfare and mentoring of apprentices and T level students across the Trust. He/she will promote the value of NHS careers through work experience and work placement opportunities in keeping with the Trusts current gold standard.

Our Trust is spread over two counties so you will need to travel independently to grow our relationship with schools and colleges, by attending career events across the Counties of Norfolk & Suffolk and building strong connections with our future workforce.

Strong communication skills are a must as you will support the wider team to promote and grow and develop the clinical and non clinical support workforce through existing programmes and new initiatives.

Excellent IT skills are essential to support the admin/systems needs of the team

We have a hybrid work model. You would have a visible presence in the work place at least 3 days a week either at office base or any of our Trust sites.

Main duties of the job

  1. Coordination and Scheduling: Schedule awareness sessions and progress reviews for apprentices and T level students
  2. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of progress reviews and applications for work experience and other relevant documentation using Electronic Staff Records. Assist in the preparation of training materials and information literature as needed.
  3. Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the team, with staff within the organisation and external partners. Respond to inquiries, emails, phone calls. Manage allocated inbox for team.
  4. Logistics and Support: Arrange logistics for career events, school visits and internal and external roadshows assisting with equipment where needed and ordering refreshments. Provide on-site support during training sessions as required.
  5. Data Management: Input and manage data related to training programs within ESR and internal business systems as required.
  6. Collaboration: Collaborate with NSFT staff and other team members to ensure seamless coordination of training and developmental activities. Contribute ideas for process improvements.
  7. Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to NHS policies, procedures, and regulations related to training and education activities.
  8. Mentoring:provide mentoring to new recruit apprentices and T level students

About us

The Talent for Care & Apprenticeship Team are an experienced and dynamic team responsible for implementing theTalent for Care(TFC) strategy (HEE 2014) across the trust. The TFC strategy focus on the development and growth of the support workforce. The team typically engages with activities to attract the future workforce via school/college and pre employment talks/fairs work experience etc. The team is also responsible for specific development programmes such as the Care Certificate and facilitating access into professional roles through apprenticeships.

The Team is part of the Education & Development Team and aligned to the recruitment team to support the large-scale recruitment & retention programme of HCSWs currently underway. The main base of the team is County Hall in Norwich. The successful applicant will be working across Norfolk and Suffolk. Working hours predominantly are Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Flexible working requests or job share will also be considered for this post.
