Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Distribution Driver to join the Distribution team which supports the delivery of mail, drugs & stores across all Trust locations. A clean driving licence is essential and experience of multi-drop and working to set routes and timelines would be beneficial. The hours will be spread over a 5 day week which will be based around workload demands.

Main duties of the job

  1. Carry out daily vehicle safety check
  2. Maintain the official vehicles in a clean condition internally and externally
  3. Report any mechanical defects to the Transport Team Leader
  4. Report any accidents or damage to trust vehicles, other vehicles, people or property to the
  5. Transport Manager/Team Leader.
  6. Maintain vehicle log sheets of journeys and the mileage traveled and to submit them weekly to the Team Leader.
  7. Comply with instructions received from the Transport Manager / Transport Team Leader.
  8. To drive vehicles in the Trusts fleet as required for operational movement and the collection/ delivery of items and at times as specified in the Transport Schedule
  9. Undertake unscheduled delivery and collection journeys as may be required from time to time.
  10. To ensure the security of delivery vehicles and contents are not breached.
  11. To assist in Post Room as and when required ensuring all incoming post parcels and goods are identified and delivered to appropriate departments within agreed timescale.
