We have an exciting opportunity for an 8b Clinical/Counselling/Practitioner psychologist to play a lead role within the CMHT in Kings Lynn in the West and South Care group. This is a fixed term six month contract to cover maternity leave and can also be viewed as a developmental opportunity.

The post holder will be working alongside the other psychologists and psychological therapists in the West CMHT. We have a range of expertise in various psychological therapies including CBT, CAT, EMDR, DBT, MBT, SCM and the post holder will have the opportunity to work alongside these languages responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the West Adult CMHT.

Main duties of the job

To carry a caseload of our most complex cases for assessment, formulation, consultation, and treatment.

To provide line management, clinical and professional supervision for staff in the Psychology team and placements for trainee clinical psychologists.

To support non-psychologists to deliver psychologically informed interventions and provide training for the CMHTs to support their work.

If looking to take the post on a part-time basis the duties will consist of some of the above, based on WTE.

About us

The West Norfolk CMHT Teams are located at Chatterton House, Kings Lynn. They are a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary teams and offer specialist interventions (e.g. CBT, CAT, ACT, DBT, MBT;EMDR; etc). We also provide brief psychoeducational workshops and a supported psychoeducation programme. Psychology Services within the Trust have strong links with partners including UEA, and NSFT's Recovery College, in which they play an active role.

Qualification

Essential

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or its equivalent, including eligibility for chartered status with the BPS
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice

Experience

Essential

  • Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity
  • Relevant experience in service area
  • Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist and evidence of specialist knowledge gained through practice and ongoing training

Desirable

  • Working in the relevant service to support specialist knowledge

  • Use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
  • Assessment, evaluation and management of risk associated with mental ill health and related psychopathology
