We are looking to recruit a full time Specialty Doctor to join the Older Peoples Mental Health Inpatient Services at The Julian Hospital in Norwich. The vacancy has arisen within Rose Ward, an old age functional ward.

Main duties of the job

The Julian Hospital is a mental health hospital with 70 beds for older people situated on Bowthorpe Road in Norwich. The site has a purpose built dementia unit, Hammerton Court, which provides the inpatient services for dementia patients. Hammerton court was designed with extensive input from Service Users and Clinicians to provide high quality care for patients with dementia.

This consists of Beach Ward, a 13 bedded dementia assessment ward for male patients and Reed Ward, a 13 bedded dementia assessment ward for female patients as well as Rose Ward, a mixed sex continuing care ward with 13 beds.

For 'functional' illness there are 2 wards, Sandringham Ward, is a mixed sex older peoples functional ward currently with 17 beds and Blickling Ward which is mixed sex older peoples functional ward which is to be expanded with refurbishment to 19 bed admission ward. Blickling Ward was recommissioned by the Trust in order to increase the functional bed capacity for older adults and those with significant frailty.
