We have an exciting opportunity in our recently rated GOOD, Adolescent Psychiatric inpatient Unit, Dragonfly. We need a Full time Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team.
Why NSFT, Why Dragonfly?
We are proud that our hard work and commitment has been recognised by the CQC with a rating of GOOD across all domains . Utilising the guidance of national frameworks alongside a large measure of forward and creative thinking the Dragonfly unit is recreating itself in response to the changing needs of the population. It has the ambition of being a community held provision with the flexibility and creativity to reach outward to provide expert skills and knowledge to the many and not just the selected few. As part of this development the Dragonfly Unit has become part of a wider community offer, including the Community Child and Adolescent teams, the local admission avoidance team and the Crisis and Psych liaison services.
Main duties of the job
The multi-disciplinary team provides inpatient treatment for young people aged 13 to their 18th birthday with severe mental health problems and eating disorders.
The role of Consultant Psychiatrist in developing the community based tier 4 offer will be essential to these ongoing developments. As such we want to offer the Consultant job plan with the flexibility to facilitate the post holder with the protected time needed to develop this service. We need a Consultant who is able to utilise this time to develop the interfaces with key partners and the collaborative. Also to drive the direction of the service developments. Key to this will be the ability to think creatively about changing demands and adapting the service in response to local needs. Supported by a team of skilled clinicians including a newly appointed Consultant Psychologist and senior leadership team we believe we can create an outstanding service.
