Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be a Technical Instructor working across stroke (acute) and within the Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT) for Tameside & Glossop.
The Stroke Rehab Unit provides bed based rehabilitation, working towards patient specific goals, aiming to facilitate a return to the community.
CNRT provides therapy to patients that have had an acquired neurological diagnosis (such as stroke, Parkinson's,MSand brain injury). We offercommunity basedassessment and treatments within a variety of settings including the home, group, clinic, or the wider community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Technical Instructor with experience in stroke/neurological rehabilitation to provide support to both services.
The individual will work alongside other multidisciplinary staff members to ensurehigh standardsof service delivery for the patients of Tameside & Glossop.
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will understand the benefits to be gained from a team approach, where each team member's contribution is valued and where experience is shared.
Main duties of the job
To helpprovideholistic, integrated therapy toward based patientson the Stroke Rehab Unit (SRU) and in the community for the Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT).
Tohave an understanding ofmulti-disciplinarystaff members (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, nursing) roles andresponsibilities.
To work with indirect supervision, reporting back patient's progress and informing therapists of any problems
Todemonstrateeffective communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives, carers, teamstaffand external agencies
To manage risks within the community setting as a lone worker
