Job summary
To independently provide assessments and treatments of musculo-skeletal/Orthopaedic patients referred from both GP`s and other health professionals. Including patients with complex and/or chronic presentation.
Main duties of the job

Clinical Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Use evidence-based interventions to manage MSK disorders.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes.

Teamwork & Supervision:
- Collaborate with consultants, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervise junior staff, students, and technical instructors.

Service Development:
- Participate in audits, research, and service improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to in-service training and mentorship programs.

Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance and NHS standards.

- Degree in physiotherapy
- HCPC registered physiotherapist
- Evidence of CPD in MSK Physiotherapy courses
Desirable
- Member of CSP
- Completion of recognised/accredited advanced assessment, diagnostic and treatment course in a musculoskeletal specialism
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- 2 years post-graduate experience in a musculoskeletal setting
- Previous experience in Acute Orthopaedic outpatient/inpatient
- Confident in clinical knowledge and limitations
- Ability to exercise clinical judgement.
Desirable
- Post grad courses eg Orthopaedic Medicine, McKenzie etc
- Previous experience at band 6 level
- Member of relevant clinical interest group
- Experience of supervision of students and or junior staff
- Special Interest in Rheumatology
Skills and aptitude

- Time management skills
- Ability to travel between sites using own personal transport facilities
- To cover hours between 8am and 6pm
- IT skills appropriate for the post
