Are you an experienced leader with a passion for operational excellence in patient care? As a Patient Transport Service Sector Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient delivery and performance management of our Patient Transport Services (PTS).
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to oversee daily operations, tackle high-demand periods, and mitigate risks, all while supporting the Deputy Head of PTS to deliver on NHS, Trust, and service line strategies.

Main duties of the job
PTS Sector Manager - key responsibilities (non-exhaustive)
- Provide strategic leadership and management of a designated Sector, ensuring that the long-term plans for service design, service delivery and resource deployment will secure future business, promote cost efficiency and deliver improving quality
- Accountable for the direct delivery of transport services to patients travelling for non-urgent and non-emergency treatment within a specified Sector, ensuring all operational resources employed in the delivery of the service are clinically appropriate to the patients' needs, ensuring that standards of patients & staff safety are adhered to and that quality & performance targets are met.
- Ensure effective collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the health economy, engaging with senior clinicians and managers across organisational boundaries, to effectively manage the Trust's reputation as an excellent provider of Non-Emergency PTS to ensure ongoing deliverability and sustainability of the service.
- Accountable for effective management of all managers and supervisory staff in the visible leadership of all Ambulance Care Assistants and volunteers withinservice delivery for their Sector, ensuring delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient service to patients.
- Ensure that all operational risks are identified and managed effectively, taking responsibility for the management of the sector Risk Register.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
