Applications are invited for a Financial Services Apprentice based within the finance department in Bolton. The successful applicant will work as a member of the Finance Department providing resilience for the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury and Salary Sacrifice teams,
The post will involve undertaking the AAT qualification.You must be educated to at least GCSE level)
Main duties of the job
Checking invoice requests are completed correctly prior to processing & raising the associated invoices & credit notes promptly in accordance with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions & internal departmental procedures
Resolving customer queries in relation to invoices raised by the Trust in a polite & efficient manner
Discuss queries from staff, customers & suppliers where there may be problems with non-payment or other sensitive issues, including Limited contact with distressed suppliers
To assist with the prompt collection of monies relating to invoices raised to customers, referring to the Financial Services Manager for guidance
Provide effective administrative support to the trust's Salary Sacrifice Schemes, including ensuring the Trust complies with HMRC & Treasury rules
Input and manipulate financial data into computer databases & spreadsheets, where speed and accuracy are essential
Checking supplier invoices and credit notes prior to payment, against order documentation and processing in a prompt manner in accordance with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions, internal procedures & Better Payments Practice Code
Complete complex calculations regarding payments & decide whether & how to pursue over/under payments
Resolving discrepancies relating to suppliers invoices, statements & orders in a polite and efficient manner
Receipt & banking of all cash/cheque payments received from external sources

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
