Job summary

1 positions available for a HART Group Manager - based across GM and CAM areas.

The HART Group Manager will assume responsibility for local operational service delivery, acting on behalf of, and deputising for the Head of Special Operations within their group of stations. They will have responsibility for HART resource management and planning (rostering of resources), fleet, equipment and estates management, and financial management within their group of stations.With an in depth knowledge of Special Operations, the HART Group Manager will plan the deployment of resources to ensure NWAS response to incidents within a Hazardous Area meets the National Core Standards requirement.

Main duties of the job

Working across two sites, the HART Group Manager will have a focus on staff welfare support and management, implementing health and wellbeing measures within a specialist response team.

They will manage and oversee absence management procedures, working with Team Leaders to make sure staff are escalated where appropriate. They will also undertake investigations as appropriate.

They will have responsibility for ensuring that the staff working in their group of stations are appropriately trained, are paid correctly, have access to kit, equipment and vehicles required to do their jobs, and are supported to be at work.

They will also have a responsibility for maintaining the health and wellbeing of the staff working in the group they are managing - implementing health and wellbeing initiatives driven by the organisation and by the wider EPRR network.

The HART Group Manager will support the clinical lead implementation of clinical skills across the area of responsibility. This will include ensuring that staff within the team maintain clinical skills to a level in line with NHS Core Standards.

Guided by the Head of Special Operations, the HART Group Manager will work closely with the HART Clinical Lead to support them to deliver against clinical performance within their group and support HART Training Managers in delivery of HART training competencies.

As trained National Inter-Agency Liaison Officer (NILO), the HART Group Manager will contribute to the Trust's on-call rota.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • HCPC registered Paramedic working to full scope of autonomous practice
  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional experience
