Job summary

In line with the Digital Strategy and Strategy for Urgent and Emergency Care, you as part of a team will work to maintain and develop the organisation's Cyber security posture throughout the digital infrastructure to support critical operations and security of the Trust and provide supporting advice on technical issues as required.

The successful candidate will be expected to promote industry best practice throughout NWAS digital systems while providing efficient and effective user experiences.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide risk management against the trust deliverables;
  • To lead and mentor the Digital teams and leadership groups, maintaining specialist skills and knowledge to build adequate resilience within the Trust
  • The support the trusts capital plan deliverables;
  • To be part of a team providing Out of Hours On-call services to the Trust across the full range of IT services.
  • Involved in technical security design for new and current software solutions, assure architecture and implementation for all infrastructure related projects and initiatives globally.
  • To undertake individuals KSF reviews and maintain compliance against the mandatory training register;
  • To support strategic projects to financial planning, timescale planning and outcome deliverables;
  • To maintain customer relationships throughout the whole of NWAS;
  • To manage compliance with HSE for all NWAS and visiting people within the ICT environment.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Essential

  • Sound and developed Technical knowledge and understanding of highly complex Cyber Security technology.
  • Must be very proactive in understanding and staying up to date with current security technologies and industry technology trends.
  • Compliance knowledge required in ISO27001, DSPT and GDPR.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels at a customer - analyst/manager/head of IT/Board
  • Strategic mind-set supported by ability to deliver in a complex technical environment
  • Have strong stakeholder management experience to work with all levels internally and externally
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to identify and implement best practice Security, across all aspects of Security
  • Advanced Keyboard Skills

Qualification and knowledge

Essential

  • Masters level qualification or equivalent relevant in-depth experience in a Cyber Security environment
  • Actively work towards and achieve a security certification such as; o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) o ISACA - CISM

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Vulnerability Management experience
  • Previous experience with information security or technical security with an understanding of system security controls.
  • Undertaking security gap analysis assessments
  • Producing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.
