Job summary

North West Ambulance Service are looking to recruit a Rostering System Support Officer for the Regional Rostering System Support Unit which will be based at Parkway 3, Parkway Business Centre, Manchester. All training for this post will be conducted at Parkway 3 (on a full time basis) until the post holder is deemed to be competent, then you will be expected to travel between NWAS sites if / when required

Post the successful completion of a training period, the applicant may utilise the Trusts Agile Working policy and work a portion of their hours from home.

Reporting to the Assistant Rostering Manager, the Rostering System Support Officer is responsible for:

Act as a 1st line System Administrator and be responsible for maintenance and housekeeping of the current and future computerised resource management systems (currently GRS). To assist in all aspects of staff training in the current and future computerised resource management systems.

Work closely with all NWAS managers and clinical team leaders responsible for resource allocation to maintain effective resources services.

Ensure that all filing, general, personal and daily file correspondence is kept up to date.

Assist in the achievement of national and local performance targets and quality standards for the North West Ambulance Service

Main duties of the job

You will also produce performance and management information as required.You must have a minimum 12 months rostering experience, preferably utilising GRS or a similar digital system. Excellent knowledge of Windows based software packages including Word, Outlook, Excel are essential requirements for the post. You will also be expected to travel to other NWAS locations as required; therefore, a flexible approach to work is essential in meeting operational demands.

The successful candidate will be subject to the normal pre-employment check process which includes:

Sickness absence history (Where an individual has been issued with a stage warning the matter will be discussed with the applicant and the circumstances reviewed, before a decision is taken by the appointing manager in conjunction with the Recruitment Manager regarding the progression of the application.) Conduct, no live disciplinary warnings.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
