Job summary

The PTS Bureau have opened up employment opportunities for the right candidates to join our team with the North West Ambulance, Patient Transport Service.

Change and innovation is a big part of the Patient Transport Service, and it is essential that you can embrace change, and have a positive and "Can do" attitude.

A rota will be offered to include weekend, Bank Holiday, and evening working. Unsocial elements will be paid in addition to regularly salary, where applicable

All relevant training will be offered to the successful candidates.

We will be holding joint interviews for both positions and candidates will be selected for the role appropriate to their skill set unless a specific role is requested by the candidate.

Full Time position, 37.5hrs / Week as relief cover

Main duties of the job

We are looking for dynamic individuals who work well within a team and can work independently, have excellent listening, communication, and customer service skills, and are able to thrive in a fast moving and at times, challenging environment. You must be able to demonstrate organisational and problem-solving skills, have an understanding and empathetic nature and an eagerness to deliver the high standard of patient care expected from NWAS. You must be able to work to performance targets and be productive whilst always remaining consistent and professional.

About us

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
