SUPERVISOR AT BURY WORKSHOP - North West Ambulance Service.

An opportunity has arisen for two permanent Workshop Supervisors to work as part of the Fleet Maintenance Department for the North West Ambulance Service and will be based at Bury Workshop. We have two vacancies within the Greater Manchester area.
Fleet Maintenance Supervisor salary per annum, the hours are 37.5 per week. Band 6 within a salary range of £35392 to £37350 per annum + Unsocial Hours Payment + On Call allowance.
The weekly hours are 37.5 Hours per week split over a shift system.
The shift system is set out on a two shift pattern to cover seven days per week, working within the hours of (7:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday and 7:00am to 6:00pm Sat). You will not work more than four days in any given week unless you work voluntary overtime

Main duties of the job
You will play a key role in the maintenance of the Trust's fleet of ambulances, operational vehicles and the work is wide and varied.
- City and guilds Mechanics and Technicians certificate in Motor Vehicle Technology or NVQ level 3
- Diploma or Certificate in vehicle workshop management or evidence of relevant supervisory experience
- Driving Licence C1 + D1 Desirable guidance
- European Computer Driver Licence (ECDL)
- Analytical, judgemental and problem solving skills.
- Excellent administrative, communicative, motivation and leadership skills
- Comprehensive Technical, Legislative and Health and Safety knowledge
- Ability to have a flexible approach and be able to work on own initiative.
- Work in partnership with individuals, group's communities and agencies.

- Minimum 3 years' experience at a supervisory level in the management of fleet maintenance workshops.

- Workshop knowledge in vehicle design/ structure and components.
- Thorough knowledge of health safety and risk regulations relating to vehicles, equipment, workshop and safe working practice.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
