An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NWAS Digital team, as an Integration Developer. The successful post holder will support the Senior Integration Specialist to maintain, enhance and develop the integration service for the Trust as part of the Interoperability workstream which will support operational staff in one of the UK's largest Ambulance services.

The post holder will maintain and support development in a range of the following technologies:

  • Advanced SQL
  • JavaScript
  • Healthcare integration standards, such as HL7, JSON/FHIR, Rest APIs and SOAP
  • Procedural programming language(s) e.g., C#, VB or .NET
  • Rhapsody Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Rhapsody dashboard.

On the job and formal training will be provided for the Rhapsody Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and the Rhapsody dashboard.

The post holder will collaboratively with wider members of the Digital and IT departments, particularly on complex projects requiring a mix of technical skills across the overall solution design and build.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will also provide BAU support to in-use solutions, ensuring service level agreements delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.

The post holder will support technical integration on major projects and will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in key application areas.

The role will require advanced expert knowledge and technical skills. The role will support existing and new developments in the interoperability workstream.

The post will be based primarily in Parkway (Manchester) and will have the ability to work from home too. The post holder may also be required to travel between all NWAS sites.

About us

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
