An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a PMO Benefits Manager to join the North West Ambulance Service's established Programme Management Office (PMO), within the Centre of Excellence Team.
This exciting new role is an ideal opportunity for someone with significant experience of working within project and/or quality improvement environments. As Benefits Manager you will play a highly valuable role in ensuring programme and project benefits are managed in line with the NWAS Benefits Management Framework, proactively guiding projects and programmes to identify, quantify, and track the realisation of benefits used to justify investment in the project. This will ensure that a 'fit for purpose' approach to benefits measurement and realisation is used to provide assurance that the benefits identified can be achieved, paving the way for NWAS becoming a benefits-led organisation.
The role is responsible for implementing and embedding the Benefits Management Framework and associated activities. You will take a lead in ensuring benefits management activities across the portfolio of projects align to the Trust Strategy by working closely with other key departments across the organisation and lead on the development and utilisation of a range of evaluation tools and techniques specific to benefits management, to support the wider PMO in benefits delivery
Main duties of the job
The role will also provide line management to identified Centre of Excellence team members setting objectives and allocating work, undertaking appraisals, managing attendance, dealing with employee related issues, ensuring they deliver their responsibilities effectively and efficiently; therefore you must have demonstrable experience of line management responsibilities and proven team leadership and motivational skills.
The role requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual who pays particular attention to detail, you will require the ability to understand complex problems, analyse and document workflows and current practice, identifying opportunities for change. You will follow Trust project management processes and governance arrangements, reporting to appropriate Committees and Boards, with the ability to communicate highly complex information in a non-technical way, appropriate for various levels across the trust.
The PMO department operates an ethos of best practice techniques, in line with industry standards. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with your colleagues are essential personal attributes.
About us
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
