Job summary
We're looking for an enthusiastic communications professional to join our award winning communications and engagement team on a fixed term basis until the end of September 2024, to cover maternity leave. The role is based at ambulance trust headquarters in Bolton, but home-working on a rotational basis.
The role predominantly involves co-ordinating and managing the trust's intranet and website, working with teams throughout the trust to utilise both sites as a main channel of communication, both internally and externally, ensuring reflection of the trust's strategic vision, organisational objectives and communication strategies.
Main duties of the job
To act as the first point of contact and lead for any issues relating to the content and development of the trust's intranet and website.
To develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal audiences to identify gaps in content, whilst making decisions on content hierarchy and inclusion.
To work closely with our web developers to improve and implement functionality to keep the website and intranet meeting the needs of its users.
To produce high quality and engaging content to be used on both sites, working with other team members to utilise images and videos when possible.
To ensure both sites meet national accessibility standards to the best of our capabilities.
To edit and proof read content produced by other members of the team for use on digital channels.
To work with the wider Communications and Engagement Team to support the delivery of the trust's communication strategies, public relation plans and campaigns.
About us
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
