Enhanced Practitioner - MSK Reporting Radiographer

Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced musculoskeletal (MSK) reporting radiographer to join our established reporting team. The successful candidate will support the team to deliver our 09.00-21.00 MSK reporting service including all aspects of musculoskeletal projectional imaging and our radiographer-led discharge service.

Main duties of the job

To evaluate and interpret MSK x-rays and produce accurate, diagnostic and actionable reports, while maintaining patient and staff confidentiality and practising within legal and ethical boundaries of your profession. To take part in the radiographer-led discharge service.

Be responsible for prioritising and managing your own workload and ensuring that examinations are reported in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrate professional autonomy and accountability, while working within your own scope of practice, be aware of your own limitations and know when to seek support. Understand the requirement for life-long continuing professional development, research and self-audit, required for retaining competence and supporting the necessary depth of knowledge. Demonstrate effective communication skills, and be able to adapt your communication style, to provide information, advice and professional opinion to the multi-disciplinary team, patients and their relatives and carers. Be actively involved in the daily operation of the department and act as a role model, setting and maintaining excellent standards of professionalism and ensuringthe highest standard of patient/client care.

You will take part in our radiographer led discharge service to support shorter journey times through our Emergency department.

Job planning will be completed on an individual basis in order to map your responsibilities and duties against national and local standards to ensure that you are able to demonstrate fulfillment of the four pillars of enhanced and advance radiographic practice. All team members will be expected to take part in self-audit, radiology events and learning meetings (REALM) and participate in the local continuous professional development (CPD) programme.

You will support the wider radiographic team to deliver a high standard of imaging whilst working in the general x-ray clinical area. You will act a role model and deliver support and actionable feedback to the team in order to maintain a high standard of radiographic practice.
