Job summary

Part Time - 30 Hours

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the wider medical secretary team in typing clinical correspondence in line with the Trust target of 5 working days.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Senior Medical Secretaries to provide an efficientsecretarial service to the Endocrinology and Diabetes team.

Core/Key areas will include:-

-To provide typing and administrative support for the teams on a pooled basisaccording to need.- General office duties including e-mail and computer systems, word processing.- To assist the Operational Support Manager to facilitate the smooth running ofthe service.

  • Maths GCSE grade C or 4 or above

Desirable

  • Medical Secretary AMSPAR qualification or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience of working in a busy office with conflicting demands
  • Experience in a health care setting
  • Proven typing experience

Desirable

  • Experience in a similar role

Skills

  • Good telephone manner
  • Excellent communication and good interpersonal skills
  • Confident in computer packages such as Word
  • Shows good organisational skills
