This vacancy is for a Consultant Histopathologist to work in friendly, high performing cellular pathology department. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to work as part our well-established consultant team on a permanent basis.
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust currently sits within the top ten hospitals in England for cancer performance and provides breast, bowel and cervical screening services . The team delivers some of the best diagnostic accuracy for breast screening pathology in the UK and Bolton is the first site in Greater Manchester to introduce digital imaging for post mortems in partnership with Digital Autopsy UK.
As part of Greater Manchester Pathology Network we are planning to implement digital pathology reporting.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and high quality cellular pathology (Histopathology, Non-gynae cytology & Andrology) diagnostic laboratory service. The appointee will also support the provision of mortuary and post-mortem services.
It is anticipated that the appointee will develop a lead role/special interest for which they will support the relevant MDT, in accordance with the departments requirements. They will participate in a fair and equitable "PUSH" system of work on a daily basis. They will be expected to report all areas of pathology serviced by this department
The appointee will provide clinical advice to colleagues regarding diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic indicators.
